Principal’s Message

I extend a warm welcome to all of you. I feel very proud to be the Principal of Sree Narayana College, Varkala, one of the prestigious higher education institutions. It is a privilege for me to work with our students, the excellent faculty members and staff to make this college the very best it can be.

Sree Narayana College, Varkala is situated in the heart of Varkala and within the vicinity of Sivagiri Mutt, the holy place blessed by Sree Narayana Guru, the guiding light of our institution. The college was founded in 1964 by its Founder Manager Sri R. Sankar to provide education and equity especially for the marginalized communities.

I look forward to fostering equality and diversity while throwing away the antiquated ideals of discrimination and harassment that comes with it. Everyone in the college, regardless of status, deserves their due rights and dignity. My aim is to create an inclusive and open environment where not only can everyone grow and thrive, but come out with new ideas and lessons, allowing them to go into the world as better people.

Sree Narayana College, guided by the visionary motto "Be Enlightened through Education," is dedicated to empowering students through holistic education and skill development. The college offers an 'Industry in Campus' programme, bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring students' practical exposure. To enhance employability, the college provides computer courses as an add-on programme, catering to the demands of a tech-driven world. Committed to community development, the institution undertakes various outreach programmes to uplift society. It also fosters entrepreneurial skills through its in-house stitching unit. The career-oriented Hotel Management programme equips students for diverse roles in renowned hotels worldwide, blending theoretical knowledge with real-world expertise. Additionally, the college has state-of-the-art DST-FIST-supported centralized research lab, fostering advanced research and innovation across disciplines, making it a beacon of academic and professional excellence. We empower the students to effectively utilise their talents responsibly to become leaders and make every effort to shape them into responsible citizens.
